Chapter 52: Communication and Language: The Extended Lemniscate

Page 315 in the printed volume

Language extends the lemniscate boundary 𝕃 = S¹ ∨ S¹ between agents: the self/non-self boundary becomes a shared boundary, so communication is mutual boundary access. Language is formalized as a shared SelfDesc code—grammar as the code’s structure, semantics as the decoding map, pragmatics as the code’s basin dynamics. The computation theme running through the entire book is synthesized: Life Loop Class, PPAS on fitness landscapes, neural learning, consciousness as self-modeling, and language as inter-agent computation together show that life is nature’s realization of computation. Social structures—from ant colonies to human civilizations—arise as inter-agent SelfDesc networks and extended lemniscate webs.
