Chapter 109: Intentionality and Aboutness

Page 386 in the printed volume

Mental states are directed: beliefs are about facts, desires are about goals, fears are about threats. This chapter formalises intentionality as morphism structure within the mind-topos. The Intentionality as Morphism definition (VII.D84) models aboutness as an internal map from a representation to its intentional object, anchored to the external world by a structure-preserving translation. The framework separates content from reference, clarifies misrepresentation and fictional discourse, and reconnects Brentano’s classical thesis to the categorical architecture of τ.
