Prior-Art Clusters

Prior-art clusters group bibliography references that share a domain pressure the Panta Rhei Research Program engages. Each cluster is curated from the central bibliography (1,148 entries) and wired to:

This index is the structured-data backbone; for narrative comparisons against specific approach families (shared pressure, distinguishing claim, remaining burden), see the Deep Comparison briefing.

The 9 clusters

Source-of-truth discipline

The Corpus owns the prior-art clusters. The website renders prior-art projections.

Cluster data is mirrored from corpus/data/bibliography/prior-art-clusters.yml (canonical, in the program’s research corpus) into this site’s _data/bibliography/prior-art-clusters.yml via scripts/sync_prior_art_clusters_from_corpus.py. Edits land in the corpus repo first, then sync into the site. Each cluster has a stable ID (pa<NNNNNN>) for citation continuity.

The site renders a documented subset of the cluster schema — cluster_id, title, description, references (curated bib_keys), related_construction_steps (resolving to construction-spine page URLs), related_challenges (resolving to Structural Challenge Ledger URLs), reference_count, and metadata_pending. Other fields (summary, domains, related_publications) are carried faithfully for corpus-side traceability but not currently rendered. The full schema is documented in the sync script’s module docstring.
