Thermodynamic Inversion
Defect entropy decreases along proto-time — the arrow points toward order.
Module Thesis
Heat is electromagnetic; entropy splits into defect exhaustion and information loss; no cosmological constant needed.
Overview
The most philosophically striking result in Book V: the orthodox second law is inverted. The arrow of time does not point toward chaos – it points toward order. Total entropy still increases (as the orthodox law demands), but when decomposed into its structural components, the physically relevant component – defect entropy – decreases monotonically to zero. The universe is not running down. It is running up.
The Core Idea
The framework decomposes total entropy into two components (V.D39):
- Defect entropy : the physically relevant disorder – actual structural imperfections in the configuration
- Refinement entropy : a counting artifact of finer resolution on the primorial tower – the “information” gained by looking more closely
Total increases (the orthodox second law is correct), but decreases – monotonically, finitely, to zero. The Global Defect Exhaustion Theorem proves that defect entropy reaches zero in finitely many orbit steps. Irreversibility is finite, not eternal.
Heat is reinterpreted as electromagnetic B-sector transport: radiation, conduction, and convection are all B-sector (EM) mechanisms, not kinetic billiards. This reinterpretation eliminates the need for a cosmological constant: apparent cosmic acceleration is a readout artifact of the entropy splitting, not a mysterious energy component.
Why This Matters
The thermodynamic inversion connects to the dark sector resolution: if the universe is moving toward order rather than chaos, the cosmological constant is unnecessary and dark energy dissolves as a readout artifact. It also sets up the CMB pipeline: the arrow of time determines the initial conditions for the cosmic microwave background.
Key Claims
- V.D39 – Entropy splitting: with decreasing (tau-effective)
- Global Defect Exhaustion: reaches zero in finite steps (tau-effective)
- Heat is electromagnetic (B-sector transport) (tau-effective)
- No cosmological constant needed – apparent acceleration is readout artifact (conjectural)
