V.R97 — Comparison with Penrose's trapped surface theorem

Penrose's 1965 singularity theorem proves geodesic incompleteness once a trapped surface forms. The tau structural threshold theorem is analogous but reaches a different conclusion: once the coherence horizon is crossed, topology change (not singularity) is inevitable.
