LQG and tau share four structural properties (background independence, discrete spectrum, area-law entropy, singularity avoidance) because both reject the fixed-manifold ontology. The difference: LQG retains residual manifold structure (graphs in Sigma, SU(2) labels) while tau completes the rejection through the algebraic-boundary framework.
