Gravity (base tau^1) is deconfined with perimeter-law Wilson loops, while the strong force (fiber T^2) is confined with area-law Wilson loops. This contrast is a direct dimensional consequence: tau^1 is 1D (no area), T^2 is 2D (area law possible).
