In tau, BH mergers are topological: two excisions cannot coexist when their boundaries overlap, because the coherence kernel (axiom K3, injectivity of rho) forbids two distinct topological defects at the same refinement-tower location. Overlap forces coalescence, unlike the continuous GR dynamics.
