Orthodox inflation solves the horizon problem dynamically (rapid expansion stretches a small region) requiring a specific inflaton mechanism. Tau-compactness solves it structurally: the universe is compact at all times, so causally disconnected regions never exist. The mechanism is geometric, not dynamical.
