V.R186 — Observational comparison

Observed AGN jet opening half-angles range from ~1 degree (collimated FR II jets) to ~15-20 degrees (FR I jets), consistent with the tau-predicted upper bound of 20 degrees; greater collimation results from dynamical compression at high accretion rates.
