Sweet-Parker (v_in ~ v_A/sqrt(Rm), too slow for solar flares) and Petschek (v_in ~ v_A/ln(Rm), fast but requires slow-mode shocks) reconnection models are compared; in Category tau, reconnection is a discrete topological event, not a continuous diffusion process.
