V.D183 — Generative and refinement phases

The generative phase (alpha_1 to alpha_{n_*}) is when new stable motifs are still created (particles, nuclei, atoms, stars, galaxies, BHs). The refinement phase (alpha_{n_*+1} onward) has no new motifs; existing ones are merely refined. The transition depth n_* is where N_stable reaches N_eternal.
