V.D169 — Polarity Imbalance

The polarity imbalance I_BH = (||chi_BH^+|| - ||chi_BH^-||)/(||chi_BH^+|| + ||chi_BH^-||) in (-1,1) measures asymmetry between the two lemniscate lobes. I = 0 is perfect bipolarity; the necessary bipolarity theorem prevents I from reaching the unipolar limits +/-1.
