V.D164 — Spherical Capacity

The spherical capacity C_sph(n) of the fiber T^2 at base point alpha_n is the supremum of gravitational tension G(U) over all contractible subsets U of T^2. It is the maximum gravitational tension the fiber can sustain while remaining topologically contractible.
