IV.R327 — Ground state energy

The ground state of H_infinity has zero energy: the vacuum is the constant mode chi_{0,0} = 1 with eigenvalue zero, so there is no infinite zero-point energy because the spectrum is discrete and the ground state is explicitly constructed; the cosmological constant problem is addressed in Book V.
