Every bond type (covalent, ionic, metallic, hydrogen, van der Waals) is a different pattern of B-sector winding modes on T^2; alpha derived from iota_tau sets the electromagnetic energy scale, and specific bond energies depend on mode-overlap geometry, but no new coupling constants are introduced beyond the one master constant.
