IV.R112 — Winding number classes

In the character lattice Lambda_CR = Z^2 of T^2, the three mode classes correspond to three winding regions: crossing-point modes have low winding (m,0) or (0,n), single-lobe modes wind around one circle, and full-lemniscate modes have non-trivial winding (m,n) around both circles.
