IV.D202 — Nuclear force

The nuclear force between two nucleons is the residual C-sector interaction from partial overlap of their internal color fields at separations ~1 fm; at E1 readout it is mediated by virtual meson exchange, principally the pion (lightest meson, range ~ hbar/m_pi c ~ 1.4 fm).
