Chapter 32: Healing, Regeneration, and the Repair Budget

Page 189 in the printed volume

Healing and regeneration are partial reversals of the closure sector’s action. Every finite-lineage carrier has a bounded repair capacity—the repair budget—determined by its defect-functional landscape and SelfDesc fidelity. This chapter defines the repair budget formally, traces wound healing through its four phases as progressive restoration of the distinction boundary, examines the regeneration spectrum from planaria to mammals, and proves that metamorphosis preserves SelfDesc: the caterpillar-to-butterfly transformation is a radical carrier restructuring that leaves the ω-germ code unchanged.
