Chapter 23: Weak Holonomy and the W/Z Bosons

Page 117 in the printed volume

The W and Z bosons mediate the weak interaction. In standard physics they are massive gauge bosons whose mass comes from the Higgs mechanism. In Category τ they have a cleaner identity: the W boson is the junction intertwiner—the mode that carries quantum numbers across the lemniscate junction during a weak transition. The Z boson is the junction oscillator—a mode that probes the junction without crossing. This chapter develops both from holonomy on τ² through the ω-crossing.
