the relevant chapter earned π from three convergent perspectives: topological, geometric, and spectral. This chapter earns e from a single, unavoidable source: the ν-iterator in the generator ladder ρ → μ → ν → θ (I.D04, Book I). The constant e does not enter through geometry (it has nothing to do with circles or lemniscates) but through iteration—the arithmetic of compounding one-step refinements. We prove that e = lim_{n → ∞}(1 + 1/n)^n is computable in the earned index arithmetic (I.D06) and that e is the unique base for which the growth-rate function coincides with the function itself. The chapter establishes e as the second calibration constant of the τ-framework, alongside π (II.T22) and prior to the bipolar unit j .
